Welcome to Oh My Cakery!
I’ve been meaning to launch this part of the blog for months now, where does the time go? Were a year old!!!!! and there’s still so much I want to do with the business.
Possibly the hardest part of setting up your own business and doing every aspect yourselves is time management, especially when you have a business that is you making products from scratch. Time management has never been my strongest point, i’m more of a wing it kinda gal but my mum (the other half of OMC) has a list of a list for her list lol.
So…….here we are! One whole year from OH MY CAKERY opening its doors and boy what a journey it has been so far. If you have followed us on facebook or Instagram (thank you) then you would a seen a lot of it. We choose to share a lot of what goes on in the hope that it inspires people to make their dream job become a reality but obviously for the endless lols aswell and there has been plenty from me (Kirsty).

JUST A SHELL BUT WE HAD BIG PLANS.
Shit just got real!-
Signing the lease was hella scary! Suddenly we had bills to pay every month and a set amount we had to bring in no matter what. There were lots of days where I just completely shit my pants but there were so many more days that I knew this was going to be amazing, thank god I did this with my mum because on those bad days she never once joined the panic, she seemed pretty sure it was all going to be fine……whether she then went home and shit her pants without letting on i’ll never know lol.
I’m one of those annoyingly stubborn people when it comes to designing anything! For years I had thought about a tea room and how would I want it to look but all I knew was that I didn’t want it to be vintage & flowery…..not that there’s anything wrong with that but as much as my teenager may role her eyes in dismay at me, I think im still a little cool?! As soon as we saw the inside of the unit I knew exactly how I wanted it to look, luckily mum loved it haha…….que mood board (fyi I love a fucking mood board!)
The Vision-
INSPIRATION MOOD BOARD BUT OBVS WOULD HAVE MORE RAINBOW COLOURS.
Obviously turning an industrial unit into a cakery probably wouldn’t be everyone’s first choice but we love it when something that looks a certain way on the outside then stops you in your tracks when you walk through the door and makes you say WOW! Whilst there is still some bits that we would like to add for right now i’m just gonna to throw this out there and say……….I think we nailed it lol!'
And so there you have it! The home of OH MY CAKERY, built on endless amounts of day dreaming, carefully thought out for hours on end and bought to life.
This is where the magic happens and this is where all the recipes that we will be sharing with you on this blog are made, messed up, made again and filmed haha. We hope you enjoy baking along with us.
